In Memory of Monkey

Looking for a new cat to join our household, I spotted her at the shelter as a 3 month old kitten, laying on top of her cage with her sister.  She sat up when I neared her, moved toward me and started licking my face.  She had picked me and my search was over.  After a couple of namings that never seemed to quite fit, we decided on Monkey because of her spider monkey-like chin whiskers.

On Nov. 16, 2022 my husband Mike and I helped our Monkey leave her broken little body and move on to her next journey.  She was 14.  No sweeter, gentler cat have I known.  She was the perfect patient, never complaining about the daily medications and weekly trips to receive her sub-q fluids over the years.  We miss her terribly but knowing her long illness is over and she suffers no more brings us some peace.  We’ll see you on the other side Monkey Doodle.
