Goodbye for now my dear Nox.
Lately I’ve been trying to remember every moment of your life. Our life. Your parades. Your howls. Your smiles. If you weren’t busy sunbathing you were always by my side. If you ran ahead you always looked back. Always waited for me to catch up.
I’m grateful for every moment from the day you found me when we were both just babes. You lived at the beach, you lived in the mountains. You are loved by brothers and sisters and grandmas and aunts. You have way more friends than me. The sweetest goofiest most gentle boy. I’m so lucky to have been loved by you and I will love you always.
It’s comforting to believe you might have stayed just a little bit longer so you could guide me into my next chapter like you did with so many chapters before. To give me an entire year of memories with my boy and my babe existing together.
Today, in the middle of Oregon winter, the sun came out just for you and we laid in the grass together one last time.
I am forever grateful.
