Thelma Louise McCoy Rechel Brown
1996-2019 23 years 11 mo old. April 6, 2019
When a dear friend called and said “Pam, you need a cat. Thelma needs a home. She rides in the car and goes outside on a leash.” I said “alrighty then” and you came from Wisconsin to Portland to live with me on Memorial Day 2003 at the age of 8 years old.
You went out in your harness to be tethered to a long string to enjoy the sun, flowers and breeze. You came with me to Chicago to visit Mom where you pooped in the tin lasagna pan I’d brought as an airport litter box. You came with me on a winter vacation where, after walking in the snow, you snuggled in my jacket and enjoyed the ride.
Your love has been unconditional, and you always knew when someone – me or Deborah – needed a hug from you.
You’re one month from your 24th birthday, which makes you a really old – and wonderful- cat person. We love you and believe that you’ll be free and happy – with all the food that you like (you were kinda’ finicky these past months!). Come back and visit us. Love, Pam and Deborah
